With a sophisticated new look, comprehensively updated interior, and more advanced technology than ever before, Transit Connect has evolved.
The Transit toughness, durability and functionality still remain, in features including an ingenious load-through bulkhead and flexible front passenger seating. With short and long wheelbase options providing load volumes up to 3.6m³ (VDA), payload capacity ranging from 579 – 865kg, and bodystyles including van and double-cab-in-van. But this is now an exceptionally sophisticated van equipped with valuable drive-assist technologies many of which are not available in cars today. Others help keep drivers connected, hands-free; to help them control and monitor their speed; and even to help protect pedestrians in their path.
Technology has also improved fuel economy and lowered emissions.
The Transit Connect now comes with Intelligent Speed Assist, designed to enhance your speed control and enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, the Traffic Sign Recognition camera automatically detects the current speed limit (when activated), then the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit. (option)
The state-of-the-art 75 PS, 100 PS and 120 PS Ford diesel engines are highly advanced, turbo-charged powertrains that deliver measurably improved efficiency, performance and refinement. The new engines can improve fuel efficiency, are more responsive and also quieter than ever before.
Available on all van versions with a dual front passenger seat, an ingenious load-through bulkhead lets you carry items up to 3m long in a short wheelbase van (L1) and up to 3.4m in a long wheel-base model (L2). The bulkhead has a flip-up hatch at the bottom, which you can slide long items through and into a storage area beneath the front passenger seats. Behind the bulkhead, there’s room for two Euro-pallets (in L1) or up to four 8’ x 4’ sheets of material (in L2).
Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrians in the road ahead. It can even detect pedestrians that may be about to cross the vehicle’s path. The system warns you if it detects a potential collision and if you don’t respond it will automatically apply the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 50mph (80kmh). (option)
Ford SYNC 3 is an advanced system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system. Choose either voice commands or the 6” colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. Live Traffic can help you avoid the jams. You can even call up a list of local restaurants simply by saying “I’m hungry”. (option)
